Attention All Homeowners – FPHOA Annual Meeting – Continuation - Sunday March 22nd – 2PM @ The Bridge Church

Hello all Homeowners,

We will resume the annual meeting at the Bridge Church in 30 days on March 22 2026. As to my position, the board did not accept my resignation. We will pick it up with the budget for next year.

Thank you

Kevin Cheshire

According to Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised (RONR), it is too late to withdraw a resignation once it has been formally accept by the assembly or appointing power. A resignation can be withdrawn at any time bef this acceptance, but once it has been accepti and taken effect, it cannot be withdrawn.

Key points regarding resigning under Robert's

Rules:

  • Action Required: A resignation is not effective until it is accepted, or at least until a reasonable time has passed for it to be accepted.

  • No Unilateral Withdrawal: After the organization accepts the resignation, the member cannot unilaterally revoke it.

According to Robert's Rules of Order Online, the standard order of succession for officers when the president cannot serve or is absent is the vice president, followed by other vice presidents in the order of their rank (e.g., 1st, 2nd, etc.). If no vice president is present, the secretary should call the meeting to order, and a chairman pro tem should be elected.

Key aspects of officer succession under Robert's Rules (RONR) include:

  • Permanent Vacancy: If the president's office becomes permanently vacant, the vice president moves up to the position of president, usually for the remainder of the term.

  • Temporary Absence: In the temporary absence of the president, the vice president presides.
